Daniel Colombo, MD, FAAP
Dr. Colombo feels so privileged to share in the lives of the families in his practice. Since medical school, he has found caring for children to be very rewarding. Also, he says it’s just plain fun working with children all day long! Dr. Colombo believes in evidence-based medicine and is a strong advocate for immunizations. He feels keeping up with scheduled immunizations is one of the most vital things a parent can do to ensure the health of their children. His hope is that he can help families be healthy and happy so they can reach their full potential.
Dr. Colombo graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction in Biochemistry in 1993. He received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1998, and then completed his pediatric residency training at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 2001.
After completing his training, Dr. Colombo practiced pediatrics in Las Vegas, Nevada for two years. He then returned to Reno in 2003 and has been practicing pediatrics in the area since. Dr. Colombo is Board Certified in Pediatrics, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1998, a member of the Nevada Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2011, and a member of the American Medical Association since 1994.
Dr. Colombo grew up in the area and attended Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. He is an avid international soccer fan. In his free-time he also enjoys exercising, sports of all types, hiking, snorkeling, snow skiing, playing bass guitar, cooking and traveling. He likes to begin his day running with his Portuguese water dog. He and his wife have raised two children, a son and an adopted daughter that now lives in Colombia.
