Daniel Colombo, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Colombo feels so privileged to share in the lives of the families in his practice. Since medical school, he has found caring for children to be very rewarding. Also, he says it’s just plain fun working with children all day long! Dr. Colombo believes in evidence-based medicine and is a strong advocate for immunizations. He feels keeping up with scheduled immunizations is one of the most vital things a parent can do to ensure the health of their children. His hope is that he can help families be healthy and happy so they can reach their full potential.
Dr. Colombo graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction in Biochemistry in 1993. He received his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1998, and then completed his pediatric residency training at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis / St. Paul in 2001.
After completing his training, Dr. Colombo practiced pediatrics in Las Vegas, Nevada for two years. He then returned to Reno and opened Sierra Pediatrics in 2003. Dr. Colombo is Board Certified in Pediatrics, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1998, a member of the Nevada Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2011, and a member of the American Medical Association since 1994.
Dr. Colombo grew up in the area and attended Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. He is an avid international soccer fan. In his free-time he also enjoys exercising, sports of all types, hiking, snorkeling, snow skiing, playing bass guitar, cooking and traveling. He likes to begin his day running with his Portuguese water dog. He and his wife have raised two children, a son and an adopted daughter that now lives in Colombia.
Lindsay Koppinger, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Koppinger knew immediately when she started medical school that pediatrics was the right field for her. She enjoys working with children because they are so resilient and are able to find joy in all aspects of life. She is honored to play an important role in the lives of her patients, ensuring that they are growing and thriving. She loves that pediatrics allows her to build long lasting relationships with her patients and their families from birth until adulthood.
Dr. Koppinger was born and raised in Arizona and went to the University of Arizona where she obtained her bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude in Microbiology in 2012. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2016, and then completed her pediatric residency training at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland in 2019.
Before joining Sierra Pediatrics in 2020, Dr. Koppinger was practicing pediatrics with Kaiser Permanente and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Dr. Koppinger is Board Certified in Pediatrics, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has been a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2016.
As someone born and raised in Arizona, Dr. Koppinger is excited to be back in the desert! In her free-time she enjoys exploring the hiking trails around Reno with her husband and young son, taking her mini Aussie for walks, skiing at Mt. Rose, and throwing bowls on the potter’s wheel.
